“You never change your life until you step out of your comfort zone; change begins at the end of your comfort zone.” ― Roy T. Bennett
This quote has been resonating a lot with me recently, so this week I wanted to discuss getting comfortable with being uncomfortable and stepping out of your comfort zone.
When we are operating within our comfort zone life tends to be easy – we’re operating in a way that we feel safe and in control. When we decide to take a step outside of our comfort zone it is natural to be met with fear, however, if we persevere we develop through learning and growth.
I love the below as a visual guide to the process of stepping outside of your comfort zone. I think it demonstrates the importance of being comfortable with the uncomfortable, which allows us to reach our full potential in life.
How to Leave Your Comfort Zone and Enter Your ‘Growth Zone’
So, how can you make an effort to step outside of your comfort zone to realise your full potential? There are a variety of ways you can do this, and it will change from person to person depending on their current life situations.
Personally, I decided to take part in Nature Philosophy’s Vision Quest recently, which was a big step outside of my comfort zone but was so rewarding (I look forward to sharing more on this with you soon!).
While something like Vision Quest may not be for everyone, you can start simply by trying something new such as breathwork or an ice bath.
