A lot of my clients I have worked with over the years are mothers trying to juggle their own health as well as their children’s. The constant complaint I hear is I don’t have time to exercise, I don’t have anyone to watch the kids while I go to the gym.
Movement and exercise doesn’t have to be slogging yourself at the gym everyday. It’s about finding something that works for you and life as well as your family. To be healthy you just have to move your body in some way each day. You want to set positive examples for your children so why not include them in your movement on the weekends.
Whether it be going outside, to a park, down to the beach and doing jumping jacks, playing tag, kicking a ball you are not only getting to spend time together, you are having fun doing it.
If you go outside you are getting some essential Vitamin D in your body – it helps all of your cells communicate properly throughout and manages calcium in your blood, bones and gut.
So next time you know that you wont make that yoga class or you wont make that spin class, grab the kids and head outside and PLAY.
Here is a quick fun workout you can all do together which incorporates FUN and PLAY.
- Jumping Jacks
- Bear Crawls
- Frog Jumps
- Walking lunges
- Primal Squat
Finish off with a game of duck duck goose – You know what they say FAMILIES THAT TRAIN TOGETHER STAY TOGETHER J
