EXERCISE – WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO YOU?
What pops into your head when you hear the word exercise? For some people it creates an anxiety response and they have such a negative association with exercise and training. They think that they have to spend 50 hours on a treadmill or elliptical machine. They feel like it’s such a chore and inconvenience. At Glow For LIfe we use the word “Movement” instead of exercise and training.
Moving your body is extremely important for the longevity of your health. Our movement philosophy is based on the following and we incorporate this in everything that we do.
MOVEMENT –
- Is something you enjoy
- That serves your body well
- Is Playful
- Incidental
- Functional (movements which allow you to perform activities of daily life more easily and without injuries)
We believe that moving through all of the 7 primal movements will ensure that you are a supple leopard into your Golden years. They are:
- Squat
- Lunge
- Push
- Pull
- Hinge
- Twist
- Gaite (Walking pattern)
Each week we breakdown one of the 7 movements until we have covered them all.
You get to decide what works for you, what feels good, what serves you well, what inspires you to want to incorporate it into your life forever.
My favourite movement is Kickboxing, pushing a sled and pilates.
