There’s long since been a debate about the benefits of natural medicine versus Western medicine, what this actually means and how this can best impact and improve your health.

While you can exercise and participate in group training sessions, maintain a healthy diet and eating plan, and focus on your wellbeing, sometimes you need help from an external expert in the field and require medical assistance and support.

Over the past couple of years, I have personally been exposed to GP’s, nutritionists and naturopaths in their attempts to support my health issues relating back to digestion, fatigue and thyroid. Despite trying a combination of medical professionals and medical styles, I have had undeniably had the greatest success with natural medicine practitioners.

There are a number of reasons why natural medicine has helped me glow and has made me feel great:

You learn
It’s the natural practitioners that take more time to educate their clients about the links between ‘gut-health’ and your ability to lose weight and boost your energy levels. Learning the reasons why your health might not be improving gives you the tools to properly understand and make positive change in your lifestyle.

It’s holistic
Natural medicine isn’t all potions, lotions, herbs and magic. It’s scientific and looks at physical, environmental and other factors and the impact these are having on your personal health and wellbeing. If you don’t consider the whole body and your health, you might ignore the root cause of a sickness or not be looking at the bigger picture when it comes to health solutions.

It’s natural
Humans come into contact with over 500 chemicals and substances each and every day. While it’s impossible to avoid chemical exposure, and often it’s necessary, avoiding exposure to excess man made chemicals can benefit your health.

Natural medicine is just one way you can seek treatment for any illness or ailments. It’s always important to listen to your body, see a medical professional and act responsibly when it comes to your own health and wellness.
