Our superstar Klaus Hill has been training the Glow For Life way for almost 6 months now so we thought it was time to check in with him.

As we sat across from Klaus in his living room there was an obvious shift in energy and attitude, having lost 18kg of body fat, increased his energy and improved his quality of life it’s no wonder he was looking so vibrant and ready to take on the world. Check out the interview highlights below.

Klaus is currently sitting at 128.4 so he is still on his journey. He’s made a commitment and is motivated to reach his goal of 110kg, but he is not looking at this as a diet or quick fix. Klaus and his whole family see this as a major lifestyle change that is sustainable and can be carried on forever. One of the greatest changes is his daughter knowing about healthy and unhealthy food. She talks about it openly and gets excited to try new things. He is proud of how he can now set a good example for Elise Sophia.

It hasn’t been all sunshine, roses and rainbows. Klaus actually said it was a struggle to start with: “It was a challenge trying to juggle it all and get into a routine with work, family and being healthy.”

For Klaus, his major realisation was when it came to planning his training sessions. Like most people, it’s a matter of getting in early -  that way there is no excuses. It gets done, it sets him up for the day and makes him feel great about himself. It also allows him to better manage his work life/family/wellness balance.

From sitting down all day in the studio and carrying extra weight, Klaus suffered from back issues which also caused a false start in his lifestyle change. Under the care of Glow For Life’s favourite Allied health professional Dr Bryce Fleming at Alignment Health, Klaus was able to get his back under control and soldier on!

Klaus has now really started to enjoy exercise, and has tried a number of different fitness regimes. Spin and boxing are two of his preferred classes, and Klaus also does two strength and weights sessions each week to build muscle.

Klaus is proud of his achievements. “It’s not just about the way my body has changed,” says Klaus. “Even though I’m now seeing a difference, it’s more about the way I feel and how my life has changed.

Klaus had tried previously to lose weight and went on many crash diets Glow For life has definitely worked for him and he loves being a part of our Squad. “This has been a life changing experience for me. Glow For Life, you have changed my life!” Klaus commented.

It’s not just about the scales. It’s about a range of other health and wellness markers including energy levels, how clothes are fitting and feeling, as well as measurements. For Klaus, his measurements have told an amazing story, losing 9cm around his chest and 11 cm from his waist.

Klaus now only trains once a week face to face with Head Coach Ben Morris. Moving his training sessions to an online coaching program run by Glow For Life, Klaus tracks his workouts, communicates with Ben and his kept accountable for his exercise and nutrition program which are both loaded within the Glow For Life Trainerize app.

Danielle Smith

Danielle Smith is the Founder of Glow For Life, with personal experience acting as the driving force for her passion to make a positive difference to the health and wellness of others.

Danielle tipped the scales at 30kg overweight in her childhood years and was a constant target for bullying. After making the decision to lose weight, Danielle moved to the opposite end of the spectrum, battling anorexia and bulimia for several years. Due to these early issues in her childhood she suffered from health issues later on in life like IBS, an underactive thyroid, nutrient deficiencies which lead to fatigue where she has spent countless hours and dollars with doctors, naturopaths and numerous allied health professionals trying to identify what was wrong.

After a lengthy recovery process, Danielle was able to build a healthy relationship with food, exercise and body image and made this a core priority in her life.

Unfortunately, a corporate career path with no passion or personal motivation caused Danielle’s priorities to slip, with health, fitness and attitude to life all taking a back seat.

The ‘Glow moment’ that Danielle had was a telephone call informing her that her mother was going to die. She was sick with jaundice, had a tracheotomy in her throat, was on a dialysis machine and her body was not receiving the nutrients required. The next day her father was admitted to hospital with renal failure.

Having experienced first-hand what can happen when you don’t prioritise health and wellness, Danielle knew it was her purpose to help educate and assist people to make positive changes in their lives to ensure that they are the ultimate version of themselves.

This was the catalyst for Danielle to quit her corporate career, study fulltime and begin her “Glow for Life” journey.

Since taking the plunge, Danielle has worked as a Personal Trainer at Soultrain in Woolloomooloo and as a Sport Massage therapist for the GWS Giants and worked with Julia Russell Massage therapy with such sports teams like The NSW Waratahs, South Sydney Rabbitohs, West Tigers and the NSW Cricket team.  She has just recently returned from spending time in New York training with some of the elite trainers at Equinox Greenwich in Manhattan and Celebrity Trainer from Muscle Manhattan, as well as training in Thailand at a Muay Thai training camp,  with current Muay Thai champion fighters.

Danielle is currently working with individuals, couples and families as well as in the corporate space, promoting health and wellness in the workplace and in general life.
